The Ministry for Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship, in partnership with the Association for Information Technology and Communications – ATIC, organized an economic mission to promote Romanian IT & C products in the State of Kuwait on April 16-19. Representatives of the Romanian IT & C companies participating in the mission were accompanied by the ATIC vice-president and representatives of the Ministry for Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship.
The Romanian delegation presented to the State of Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIK) representatives the products and services offered, the discussions continuing during B2B meetings with IT companies. CCIK representatives stressed the opportunities Romanian companies have in order to participate in the implementation of the “New Kuwait 2035” Vision.
The mission program continued at the Ministry of Public Works, an entity in charge of government projects in Kuwait, where Romanian companies’ presentations led to talks with Kuwaiti ministry officials on specific action directions to implement IT & C products.
The Romanian mission in Kuwait agenda ended at the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), the institution that manages the projects of the Kuwaiti state-owned institutions related to the IT & C sector. CAIT Director General Qusai Al Shatti spoke about the positive image of the global IT & C sector, stressing the potential of collaboration between the Romanian entities attending the meeting and state institutions conducting related projects. In this context, Qusai Al Shatti showed his willingness to organize an event this autumn for both representatives of Kuwaiti ministries and Romanian companies to identify the best cooperation solutions in IT & C.
Throughout the economic mission in Kuwait, the Romanian delegation was accompanied by Romania’s ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Daniel Tănase and economic advisor Dragoş Robu.
The Romanian companies participating in the mission were: 4E Software, BitDefender, GreenSoft, Imprezzio Global, Ingenios.ro, Kuantero, Next Planet, Online Services, Q-East Software, Tellence, TGS Software.
The economic mission is carried out under the Export support and promotion program partially funded from the state budget, in order to increase the visibility of the Romanian IT & C companies so as to promote Romania’s cooperation with the State of Kuwait in one of the areas our country is competitive in.
