The economic cooperation between Romania and India has the greatest development opportunities in the fields of infrastructure, raw materials, metallurgy, farming, auto, energy, petrochemistry, IT, agriculture and tourism, said Ştefan-Radu Oprea, Minister for Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship at the Romania-India Business Forum held in Bucharest on Wednesday evening. The event was organized on the occasion of Mr. Venkaiah Naidu, Vice President of India’s official visit to Romania.
“I am convinced that this visit is a decisive moment for bilateral cooperation in all areas of common interest. Commercial relations have had a good trajectory over the last three years, but there is still room for progress”, said Ştefan-Radu Oprea.
In his speech, Venkaiah Naidu said that India, an emerging state with a population of 1.3 billion, is “unstoppable” on its way to the status of the world’s third largest economy. The Indian delegation also included government officials, businesspeople and journalists.
On Thursday, Ştefan-Radu Oprea accompanied the Indian official on a visit to Prahova County. In an event organized in Ploiești, at the Prahova Chamber of Commerce and Industry headquarters, Ştefan-Radu Oprea stated that government programs supporting exports to countries outside the European Union provide trade relations with India with the opportunity to become more balanced.
