PRESS RELEASE
The Ministry for Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship and the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) signed a partnership for the promotion of legislative initiatives to develop the business environment in Romania, including strategies for developing the business environment, diversifying financing sources and facilitating companies’ access to finance.
“The private environment in Romania has reached a degree of maturity that allows the capital market to be increasingly taken into account as a financing solution. Stock listings or bond issues provide the premises for business acceleration – in terms of production, investment or exports”, said Radu Oprea, Minister for Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship.
“The Stock Exchange seeks to support entrepreneurs who lack capital and record surpluses of business development ideas. The role of this partnership is to be closer to entrepreneurs and to connect companies seeking financing with investors who have the capital essential for their development”, said Adrian Tănase, Bucharest Stock Exchange General Manager.
Next year, the Ministry for Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship and the Bucharest Stock Exchange will organize a series of eight workshops in the eight Agencies for SMEs, Investment Attraction and Export Promotion within the ministry. The events will take place in Brașov, Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Craiova, Iași, Ploiești, Târgu Mureș and Timișoara. During such workshops, the Bucharest Stock Exchange will present to business representatives the opportunities the capital market offers both to companies that want to develop and to individual investors who wish to use the stock exchange mechanisms.
